Job DescriptionGeneral Purpose:Generate sales of products and services related to the full breadth of calf care offered by DFA Farm Supplies (DFA FS) through direct and meaningful interactions with both Area Sales Managers and DFA members. Develop trusted, technical consultative associations with DFA members and other prospective customers.Location: this is a remote based position with frequent travel required. The preferred candidate will be based in the Denver, CO or Madison, WI area.Job Duties and Responsibilities:In coordination with Area Sales Managers, responsible for all aspects of the technical consultative process including member/new customer education as it relates to DFA FS calf-related products and services. This “business-to-business” sales professional will work with their supervisor and other senior leaders to identify prospective accounts for new business within assigned territory as well as establish and work with DFA FS’ calf care supplies partnersDocument interactions in Salesforce within 24 hoursVisit cooperative member farms as required to walk calf facilities, observe calf conditions and make recommendations for feeding and care of calvesWork collaboratively with DFA FS team, vendor representatives, and field staff to address member needsDemonstrate a strong understanding of the complete line of DFA FS products and services related to calvesOversee all aspects of the sales and technical support related to the successful growth of calves for a large geographic territoryIn cooperation with Area Sales Managers, coordinate and attend farm shows, membership meetings and other events as necessaryConsistently exercise logical, independent judgment and discretion in matters of significanceUtilize marketing resources to identify targeted outreach efforts for members in assigned territoryThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required.Job RequirementsMinimum Requirements:Education and ExperienceBS in Business Management or Animal Science with a minimum 5 years’ experience in direct on farm sales and support of calf health or the equivalent direct business experienceCertification and/or License – N/AKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to effectively manage a defined territory, plan a weekly schedule and organize multiple activities within a large geographic areaFamiliar with dairy farms and dairy farming practices around calves and their careHighly motivated and able to work independently within a well-defined systemCoordinate the fulfillment of products and services to members by effectively interfacing with fellow team members and existing systemsWorking knowledge of “consumable” type calf care suppliesExcellent communications skills to ensure the ability to explain and educate coop members about the benefits of working with DFA FSUnderstanding of product logisticsDemonstrated proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products and SalesforceMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishAble to travel 75-100% of the timeAn Equal Opportunity Employer including Disabled/VeteransJob DetailsJob Type: Full TimeCategory: Sales and Marketing
